Adverse Adventures

To expect perfection is to court disappointment.

I certainly don't expect everything to be perfect. In fact, imperfection is sometimes the spice one needs to feel alive, but this latest beginning was a little rough.

First of all long term parking and economy parking is just plain confusing. I've always understood parking at an airport to be divided into long-term and short-term, with the semi-recent addition of cellular or waiting lots. All of these terms are very self-explanatory. Long-term parking has always stood as the location that is far away but cheaper and short-term was closer and more expensive. Economy parking is an anomaly to me. I know economy usually means cheaper but I didn't think it meant cheaper than long-term. TLDR: Park in economy from now on.

So while circling to find the right parking lot for the fiscally minded I also receive notification that the second leg of my flight has been canceled. so everything is now moved back. I assumed correctly that they would move my flight, but I didn't know how much it would impact our overall trip. Turns out, not that much. But seeing as how I haven't got on that flight as of this writing. The verdict is still out.

While the rebooking happened the trusted traveler number fell off. For those that don't know, the trusted traveler number enables you to travel through TSA Precheck a not so invasive version of screening for a plane. Luckily the volume of travel at that time of day wasn't as heavy as it could have been so the wait wasn't as long. But there is a certain amount of frustration at being caught behind those who travel infrequently and seem to bring everything they own.

So, the trip to Hawaii starts a little shaky. I can't wait to see the shimmer pacific waters.
