Ar·chi·pel·a·go
Honolulu is a premier destination that boasts millions of visitors a year and, later this month, I'm going.
Now, while Oahu has a public transit system we always rent a car for the freedom they offer and the ability to go off the beaten path and Hawaii offers a lot of places to go.
As far as places to stay, we always strive to stay at Aulani, Disney's resort on the south west side of the island.
Being on the west side of the island and also of the coast makes the ocean view rooms particularly spectacular. You can have an amazing sunset almost every night. That having been said, don't discount any of the rooms because, in my experience, there isn't an ugly corner of Aulani.
Aulani also stands out because it boasts a substantial area for or those guests who would like take a chlorinated plunge. There are water slides and a pretty significant lazy river. In addition to that, there is an abundance of hot tubs both a little more private and a large.
If you want a little more salinity, the beach is wide open and accessible to hotel guests. Because it's Hawaii, it's spectacular. Once again, because it's on the west coast, the sunsets are in a league unparalleled.
Overall, I have glowing perceptions of Aulani. Furthermore, if you can make it to Hawaii without staying in Aulani, you'll have a great time. It's uber relaxing.
