Old Man Head Bumping

Sometimes, no matter what, mother nature has other plans.

All yesterday, the sun was in the sky and clouds we scattered yet not numerous. It seemed like a good idea to indulge in some low light pollution astrophotography. I get the camera batteries all juiced up and look up some tutorials on settings and other tricks of shooting the stars.

Not only does the setting of the sun bring some spectacular views it also brings cloud cover. Of all the small archipelagos, they had to walk into mine. So it's raining. Well, I'm gonna try anyway!

So I park at the location I had scoped out that had no light pollution and you can't see any stars. As you could expect this was a problem for those of us who want to see some stars. As the decision forms in my head about calling it a bust, the shine of the celestials peaks through and the clouds part!

Ready when you are Raoul

YES!

I can get the shots I want!
