Leaving on a Jet Plane

Amazing. That's how I describe Oahu.

The tales people tell you of a paradise found in the middle of the Pacific ocean, like tales of aliens, are all true. There are very few places where relaxation gets turned up to the levels found here, in Hawaii. But for me, it's all over.

Aulani

If you've been keeping track, you know I've been staying at Aulani, on the Southwest part of Oahu. It's several stories of Disney magic coupled with the heritage and culture of Hawaii. Disney has done much to respect the archipelago of their newest domestic destination and the very architecture shows that.

Aulani is no straight up and angular hotel like the ones that emerge intrusively in Waikiki. Aulani feels like it came emerged from the land and the people of Hawaii. Also, there are many Hawaiian denizens that share the essence with Hawaii around a fire with a story or a song.

But Hawaii isn't all about the resort.

Beach

There are of course the beaches and many of them are in remote locations that take a little effort to get to, but it's worth it. At many of these places, you can just sit and watch the waves kiss and sometimes smack the shore and sometimes it feels like you're isolated.

All in all, Hawaii is the paradise everyone says it is. Go!

But now, my latest adventure concludes itself and I must go back to normalcy.
